Accessibility Statement

Last updated

Everyone should be able to train, coach and run a business on CoachVana, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification, captions or other assistive technology. We build the website and the phone apps to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, and we keep working on the places that fall short.

What we do

  • Every public page on the website is tested against WCAG 2.2 AA with an automated checker, and we fix every violation it finds.
  • Pages have real headings, landmarks and labels, so a screen reader can move by heading and every control says what it does.
  • Text and controls meet contrast minimums in both the dark and the light theme, and a status (on track, at risk) is never shown by color alone.
  • Buttons and other touch targets are at least 44 points on iPhone, 48 dp on Android and 44 pixels on the web.
  • Animation follows your device's reduce motion setting.
  • On the phone, VoiceOver and TalkBack can read and operate the app, and text follows your device's text size where the layout allows.

What we know falls short

  • Content coaches add, such as their own videos, PDFs and images, may not have captions, text alternatives or accessible document structure. We give coaches the places to add descriptions, but we can't check every upload.
  • Exercise demo videos play from YouTube or Vimeo, and their captions depend on the video's owner.
  • Charts print their latest value and change beside them, but not every point on a long chart can be read without sight.
  • Signed-in screens are not yet all covered by the automated check that every public page passes. We fix what people report first.

What it works with

CoachVana is built for current versions of Safari, Chrome, Edge and Firefox, and for the screen readers built into iPhone, Android and Mac (VoiceOver and TalkBack). Older browsers and assistive technology may work less well.

Tell us about a barrier

If something on CoachVana is hard or impossible for you to use, tell us and we'll help you get done what you came to do while we fix it. Email support@coachvana.com with the subject “Accessibility”, or use Talk to a person in the app. Say which page or screen, what you were trying to do, and what you use (for example a screen reader or a keyboard). A person replies within one business day. You can also ask for any of our policies in another format.
