CoachVana is where people work on their health with someone they trust. These rules keep it that way. They apply to everyone: coaches, gym and company staff, clients, members and visitors, in messages, groups, comments, public pages, reviews, uploads and anything sent through an AI assistant. They are part of our Terms of Service.
Be decent to people
- No harassment, bullying, threats, stalking or intimidation.
- No hate: nothing that attacks or demeans people for race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or serious illness.
- No body shaming. Talking about bodies is part of coaching; mocking someone's body is not.
- No sharing someone's private information (address, phone, health details, photos) without their permission, and no recording or screenshotting a private conversation to post elsewhere to embarrass someone.
- Respect a block. Don't make another account to reach someone who blocked you.
Keep people safe
- Nothing that encourages self-harm, suicide or disordered eating, such as extreme restriction, purging or dangerous rapid weight loss.
- No selling, promoting or advising on illegal drugs, controlled substances, anabolic steroids or other performance-enhancing drugs without a prescription, or prescription medication.
- No false or dangerous health claims, such as saying a product or protocol cures, treats or prevents a disease, or telling someone to stop a medication their doctor prescribed.
- No diagnosing or treating medical conditions unless you are licensed to, and only within that license.
- Nothing violent, and no content that promotes terrorism or violent extremism.
If someone is in danger, call 911. If you or someone you know is thinking about suicide, call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) in the United States.
Sexual content and minors
- No sexual or sexually suggestive content, and no nudity. Progress photos are allowed where they are meant to go: privately, to your own coach, or in a gallery with the pictured person's consent.
- CoachVana is for adults only. Nothing that sexualizes, exploits or endangers a minor, ever. We report child sexual exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and law enforcement.
- Coaches may not add or coach anyone under 18 on CoachVana.
Be honest
- Don't pretend to be someone else, or to represent a business you don't.
- Coaches: list only credentials, experience and results that are true. Don't present an unusual result as typical, and don't show someone's photos or words without their permission.
- Reviews must be your own honest experience as a client. No fake reviews, no reviews of yourself or a business you work for, no paying or rewarding anyone for a review that depends on what it says, and no threats to make someone remove one.
- No scams, phishing, pyramid schemes or misleading offers.
Messages and marketing
- No spam: no unsolicited bulk messages, and no messages to people who asked you to stop.
- Coaches: invite and message only people who have agreed to hear from you, and follow the laws on email, texts and calls.
- Don't use groups or comments to advertise to another coach's clients.
Content you don't own
Upload only what you have the right to share: your own photos, videos, programs and writing, or material you are licensed to use. Someone else's program, course, book or video is not yours to sell or post. Our Copyright & DMCA Policy says how to report an infringement.
Selling on CoachVana
Coaches, gyms and companies may sell their own coaching, programs, courses, communities, sessions and memberships. They may not use CoachVana to sell or promote anything illegal, weapons, drugs or medication, gambling, adult content, or any product with health claims the law does not allow.
Keep the service working
- No scraping, crawling or bulk downloading, except search engines following our
robots.txt. - No hacking, probing or testing our security without written permission, and no interfering with or overloading the service.
- No getting around a limit, a meter, a block, a ban or a security measure, including with extra accounts.
- No reverse engineering, and no reselling or sharing access to an account.
- No using an AI assistant, an automation or text you put in a message or form to make CoachVana do something its owner did not ask for, or to pull out data you could not otherwise see.
- No using CoachVana to store or send protected health information on behalf of a health care provider. CoachVana is not a HIPAA service.
Found a security problem? Tell us at support@coachvana.com with the subject “Security”, and give us a reasonable time to fix it before you share it.
Groups and moderation
A coach runs their groups and sets their own rules on top of these. The coach, the owners and admins of their organization, and moderators the coach appoints can hide posts and comments, hold posts that use words the coach listed until someone reviews them, mute a member for a time, and remove a member and stop them rejoining. Moderators can hide and mute but cannot remove or ban. Every moderation action is logged.
Coaches are responsible for moderating their groups fairly and consistently, and for not removing honest criticism just because it is critical.
Reporting something
Use Report on a post, comment or message, or block the person. Reports are private: the person you report is never told who reported them. A report in a group goes to the group's coach and to us. You can also email support@coachvana.com, or use Talk to a person in the app.
What we do
We review reports and may remove content, limit what an account can do, suspend it or close it, depending on how serious the problem is and whether it has happened before. We may act without a report when we see a serious risk to someone. For a threat to someone's safety, or content that exploits a child, we may contact law enforcement. Where it is safe and practical, we tell you what we did and why.
If you think we got it wrong, reply to our message or email support@coachvana.com with the subject “Appeal”, and a person will look at it again.
